It was a very excited ACE committee, who welcomed 70 women to their inaugural Ararat Community Enterprise Women’s Breakfast held at Chalambar Golf Club on 21st April, 2016.
Committee member, Julie Maddocks felt it was important to rally the women of Ararat and surrounds and share a breakfast with a theme. The guest speakers for the breakfast were dynamic young women making a difference in their home town.
Although her speech began: ” I’m an ordinary girl, living an ordinary life...” Maddy Vernon has proven to be anything but ordinary. Whether in dance, education or fighting to keep the outdoor pool open, she gives her all and her enthusiasm brings the crowd along.
Sharing the stage was young business woman and entrepreneur, Sarah Holland. Sarah talked about her dream of owning her own beauty business and her journey to make it a reality. She talked about the importance of beauty being more than just skin deep and this is reflected in her holistic approach to running the business. A proud winner of the 2015 Grampians Pyrenees Professional Service award, Sarah also acknowledged the support of her family, who always believed in her.
ACE President, Max Perovich said it was fantastic to see so many women attend and ACE looked forward to having a different theme each quarter. Max acknowledged the different networks such as ARBA, East Grampians Health Auxillary and Social media to help spread the word. He thanked the many sponsors comprising Chemart Pharmacy, Latus Jewellers, Foster’s Mensland, 2ttags, David O. Jones Mitre 10 and Suffield Panoramas for their prize donations.
